MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND May 27- 30, 2011 at the SEATTLE CENTER is a great place to spend a long weekend at the beginning of summer. As I write this, the sun is shinning for the second time in longer than I can remember. I can hardly wait to finish this blog and get out and soak up some of those good rays. It’s a doctor ordered activity you know, getting some extra vitamin D from a little sun is a good thing.

And now about the Folk Festival:

Music, Music, Music, local, national & international entertainers, with categories such as; ‘Punk’ as Folk, Mountain Blues, Rockabilly Riot, Fiddlers Showcase, Slavic Choir Showcase, Ukulele Showcase, The Acoustic Lounge, Reggie Rising Party, Family String Band Showcase, Bluegrass Showcase-Hot Pickin’ & Harmonies, and many, many, many more.

Dance, Dance, Dance includes; Contra Dance, Waltz Dance, Square Dance, Balkan Dance, International Folk Dance, Family Dance, English Country Dance, Israeli Dance Party, Swing Dance, Salsa & Tango Dance, Irish Ceili Mor, Couples Dances of the World, and Belly Dance Showcase… any of these should set your toe to tapping.

Other types of entertainment include; Poetry Events, Liars Contest, Native & Cultural Story Telling, Events for Writers and by Writers, and other Eclectic Events.

There is something for everyone, take a loved one, your wife, kids and mother-in-law, a neighbor and you will be their hero.
