You may recognize some of these names, Oyster, Bolete, Shaggy Mane, Fairy Ring, Honey, Chanterelles, Meadow, or Deliciousa, if so then you are up on your mushrooms. These are some of the wild mushrooms that are being featured at the Annual Wild Mushroom Celebration. Restaurants on Long Beach are hosting “get to know your local mushrooms”, with menus featuring various mushrooms, cooking classes, and an opportunity to meet a professional forager. If you plan to go foraging for mushrooms be sure to listen closely to the professional forager, if you pick the wrong mushroom, you could end up “high” or dead.  Not GOOD, well, definitely not the dead part.

While visiting the WILD MUSHROOM CELEBRATION be sure to check out the “Upcoming Local Events” that included the Water Music Festival and Graveyard of the Pacific Shipwreck Events. Find more things to do on Belva’s List.
