We live in a diverse world, filled with diverse lifestyles, about which, we may understand very little and find uncomfortable to even talk or think about. The Gay, Lesbian community is one of these diverse groups. A community that has been much maligned and oppressed by ignorant and mean propaganda.
Living in the Seattle area, one of the more liberal areas in the USA, we are more apt to, in someway, be connected to the Gay, Lesbian community, either directly or indirectly through a friend, your work, your neighbor or part of your family. Perhaps, it’s time to crawl out of your comfort zone and try to understand and accept these folks for who they are, not what they are, and welcome them to the neighborhood. One way to start is to attend the “The Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival” presented by Three Dollar Bill Cinema. The festival has been a part of the Greater Seattle LGBT community and beyond since 1996 and has become the largest festival of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. The festival has garnered national recognition for showcasing extraordinary and award-winning work. The festival is also an important venue in the local Seattle film scene, and inspires members of our community to express their creativity through film and video.
