Point Defiance Park Off Leash Demonstration Area

Approximately 7 acres in Point Defiance Park, located in the former Madrona Day Camp area on Five Mile Drive south of Fort Nisqually, have been made into an off-leash demonstration area. Unlike a formal dog park, this off-leash demonstration area is not a fully fenced enclosure. However, in June 2011 a fenced area (about 1/8 acre) was installed at the front gate for smaller dogs. In September 2010, staff started collecting rainwater into a rain barrel to provide water for dogs using this location.
