Greater Seattle YMCA
Y M C A...
...no, not the song made famous by The Village People in the 1970’s, the other one that is in your community.
As early as 1876, Seattle’s founding Mothers and Fathers began planning a future of community support for Seattle’s youths and their families. As Seattle and the surrounding areas population grew, new YMCA’s were built to fulfill the needs of these communities. This early meeting was the beginning of what would grow into our very own YMCA of Greater Seattle.
As a charitable, non-profit organization serving King and Snohomish Counties you will find a YMCA facility located near your home or work. These YMCA’s offer a wide array of activities and programs for; Families, Adults, Seniors, Youths, Kids and Young Adults, conferences, retreats, camps, health and wellness, recreation, single-family events, pre-school and after school programs are just some the activities and programs for you and your family to choose from.

A YMCA has been serving the Shoreline area for 50 years or so and in the fall of 2008 opened a new facility, the Dale Turner Family YMCA. This state-of –the-art facility combines a wellness center with it’s traditionally community friendly atmosphere. The new Dale Turner Family YMCA has a 25-yard handicapped-accessible pool, full size gym, indoor cycling studio, group exercise classes, climbing wall, active older adult exercises class and much, much more. You really must check this place out!!!
VOLUNTEER, yes, I said volunteer. Volunteering allows you to give back to your community. You can do something that helps an organization dedicated to building support for our communities, their families, kids, and seniors. The thirteen Greater Seattle YMCA’s have need of your time, energy, and talent.
See you at the “Y”...
