The Seattle Storm is now Seattle's only professional basketball team. Led by WNBA All-Decade honorees Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson, the WNBA's all-time winningest female coach Anne Donovan and 2004 Finals MVP Betty Lennox, the Storm has made four playoff appearances in five years and won the 2004 WNBA title. The Washington Huskies, members of the PAC 10, start their season runs from November to mid-March. And this year the PAC 10, like most years, doesn’t have a lot of push-overs—it looks like a lot of hard fought and close battles, leading up to the league championship. Washington and its PAC 10 counterparts always produce great match ups and exciting basketball.

Yes, you heard right, Seattle U’s Redhawks basketball team is returning to Division I from whence they came 27 years ago. You may recall they were known as the Chieftains back then, with great players like Elgin Baylor, Eddie Miles and Tom Workman. Let’s hope we see those days again.

This little School produces some great basketball talent. They are always right up a the top in their league and have gone to the NCAA playoffs the last three years in a row. But get this, out of the past 14 years a PLU Falcons basketball team has been in the NCAA Championship Tournament 11 times. If you get a chance to see this team play, don’t pass it up.

Pacific Lutheran has a long and storied men's basketball history, Northwest Conference Championships: 1967 - 1968 - 1971 - 1973 - 1974 - 1978 - 1979 - 1980 - 1985 - 1986 Evergreen Conference Championships: 1955 - 1956 - 1957 - 1958 - 1959 - 1960 - 1962 - 1963 – 1964 Head coach Steve Dickerson, now in his third year, hopes to tap into some of that winning tradition. Who knows, maybe you can witness the Lute’s return to that championship caliber of play.
